Marine Historical Society Retire Flag at Veteran Memorial The American Flag flying over the Marine Veteran Memorial was showing some wear and tear and it was time to replace it with a new flag. The new flag was donated by the Woodmen of the World who also donated the first flag and the flagpole when the Veteran Memorial was started in 2018. Donna Brendel from the Woodmen came to the MHS meeting on November 8th, gave a talk about her organization and presented a new flag to the society. With Veteran Day being on Thursday the society decided to retire the old flag with the new Stars and Stripes on that day. This took place at 8:00 a.m. with several members from MHS, along with the town's mayor Kelly Tracy were on hand to help with the exchange. Even though the weather was less then pleasant, the new flag was raised as planned. All so thanks to Allpoint Networx for the emergency repair of the flagpole.
